A flexible property of the neurons, or rather neuronal networks to change their biochemical, physiological and morphological characteristics temporarily or permanently. It consists of the ability of the nervous system to adapt its structural organization to new situations emerging from changes of developmental and environmental situations, as well as other factors affecting the conditions of the nervous system, and the whole organism.
