This is a hospital record review of mothers who donated breast milk to the Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank, including those whose infants were cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Sunnybrook. The study aimed at identifying which bacteria are commonly present in donated breast milk and whether mothers of infants in the NICU have different types and levels of bacteria in their breast milk compared to other donors.
