Dr. Eugenia Piliotis, Peters-Boyd Academy Director
We are pleased to announce Dr. Eugenia Piliotis has been appointed as the Peters-Boyd Academy Director and officially started in this role on Feb. 1, 2016 for a five-year term.
Dr. Eugenia Piliotis has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from McMaster University and completed her Medical Degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1997. She went on to complete her core training in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and then moved to Toronto in 2000 to start her haematology specialty training. Dr. Piliotis completed her fellowship in lymphoma at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in 2003, and a Masters in Medical Education through OISE at the University of Toronto in 2004.
Dr. Piliotis joined the oncology staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in January 2004 as part of the Haematology Site Group and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Piliotis has held numerous leadership positions at the Royal College and the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. She is the Vice Chair of the Royal College Hematology specialty committee and is the coordinator of the University of Toronto Department of Medicine collaboration with Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Dr. Piliotis has also previously held other leadership positions at the University of Toronto Department of Medicine including Residency Program Director for the Adult Hematology training program.
Dr. Piliotis has performed exceptionally in the role as Interim Director of the Peters-Boyd Academy since July 2015 and we look forward to success and innovation in the coming years.
