Sunnybrook receives first-place award for SunnyCare

September 28, 2015

Sunnybrook has tied for first place in the ImagineNation e-Connect Impact Challenge in the category of "e-Reports of Services" for SunnyCare.

“It is an honour to be recognized in this way for our work on SunnyCare Consult Notes,” says Oliver Tsai, Director of Information Technology at Sunnybrook. “The team has worked hard to create a solution that makes a clinician’s work more efficient, accessible and integrated.”

Jennifer Zelmer, Executive Vice President, Clinical Adoption, for Canada Health Infoway presented the SunnyCare team with the award on Sept. 25.

Forty-six teams competed in the 15-month challenge, which looked to advance digital health adoption and use among Canadians and health care providers in four categories. The challenge began in October 2013 and ended in March 2015.

The e-Reports of Services category encompasses digital-health tools that enable regulated clinicians to electronically and securely provide reports about the services a patient has received to other authorized care providers. Sunnybrook recorded the highest percentage growth in electronic reporting through SunnyCare Consult Notes.
