Sunnybrook hosts renowned imaging researcher Dr. Pierre Bondiau

Toronto -- Odette Cancer Centre, the comprehensive cancer program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is pleased to welcome Dr. Pierre-Yves Bondiau, radiation oncologist from the Centre Antoine-Lacassagne in Nice (France) to the R3 - Radiation-Oncology Research education Rounds on Tuesday, June 13th at 1 pm.

Over the last ten years, Dr. Bondiau has been working on automatic segmentation techniques and target volume definition for image guidance in protontherapy and radiation oncology. He is developing imaging research with the ASCELPIOS project team at the INRIA (National Institute for Automatic and Informatics Researches in Sophia Antipolis, France). The project is aimed at the development of new medical imaging and robotics tools and focuses on image mapping and deformation.

During his upcoming talk, Dr. Bondiau will describe the work of the ASCLEPIOS team and present his own results in the field of automatic segmentation applied to image guided radiotherapy.

Dr Bondiau's visit is supported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the French General Consulate in Toronto.
