Our research

At the Family Navigation Project (FNP) we conduct regular research and program evaluation. FNP is at the forefront of research efforts in family navigation in Canada.

Our research focuses on:

  • Understanding the needs and experiences of youth with mental health and/or addiction concerns and their families. Specifically in accessing services in the mental health and addictions system.
  • Advancing knowledge, support and resources for youth with mental health and/or addiction issues and their families.
  • Exploring the outcomes of navigation supports for youth with mental health and/or addictions concerns and their families.

Program evaluation helps to ensure we are supporting families effectively. FNP clients are invited to complete surveys about their experience with FNP. Feedback from FNP clients is extremely important to help improve navigation services for young people with mental health and/or addictions concerns.
