Image-processing laboratory

This suite enables Sunnybrook Research Institute scientists and engineers working on image-processing techniques to form a critical mass of talent in the area using the lab’s resources. Doing so improves cross-fertilization between different kinds of imaging applications and methods, and eliminates duplication of commonly used software components.

Researchers and their teams are designing new software to guide interventions; analyzing image-processing methods for cancer, and brain and cardiac conditions; developing computer-aided diagnostic tools; and receiving training in state-of-the-art image-analysis techniques. Rooms are equipped with high-end graphics workstations, and there is a 3-D viewing room.
