Research ethics, as part of Human Research Protections Program, coordinates and supports the practices and activities of Sunnybrook's research ethics board (REB). The mandate of Sunnybrook's REB is to ensure all health research involving human participants or human materials that is conducted within or on behalf of Sunnybrook meet the current scientific, regulatory and ethical standards for the protection of human research subjects. To this end, the REB ensures that safeguards are in place to provide the greatest possible protection to patients and members of the community who act as research participants.
You are encouraged to contact research ethics for guidance with completing REB applications or for clarification regarding any information posted on the research ethics web pages.
To speak with the REB chair or vice-chair, please contact the research ethics manager or one of the coordinators.
