Clinics & Clinical Care

Our physiatrists provide clinical services and consultations across all three Sunnybrook campuses to help prevent, diagnose and treat adults with injuries or illnesses that affect mobility and function. We provide clinical care leadership for St. John’s Rehab and work closely with patient care teams in trauma, burn musculoskeletal, brain sciences, cancer and the Sunnybrook Centre for Independent Living (SCIL).

Clinics & Services

General rehabilitation clinics

• Spasticity clinic
  We offer two full-day spasticity clinics per month, held every 2nd and 4th Friday.
  We work with patients with impeded mobility stemming from a variety of central nervous system disorders including stroke, head injuries, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Using the Botulinum Toxin treatment, these patients are more mobile and have a better quality of life.
  The Physiatry Spasticity Clinic is a valued teaching clinic for Sunnybrook, run by physiatrists Dr. J. Lo, Dr B. Sreenivasan, and Dr. D. Berbrayer, under the direction of Dr. S. Sharma. The clinic attracts health care professionals as well as University of Toronto medical residents and medical students who wish to learn about spasticity management and mobility improvement. We are also a centre for training physicians such as neurologists and physiatrists across Canada through the Allergan Academy of Excellence.
