Patients are admitted based on a three-week stay admission criterion that tests their functional capabilities. Through individually customized therapy and support, patients work on rebuilding their strength, mobility, independence and restoring their overall health.

The STAR rehabilitation team is composed of a full range of rehabilitation professionals and medical specialists. They work closely with patients and their families to identify and achieve rehab goals, determine an appropriate length of stay and plan follow up care.

Patients can also access fee-for-service care such as massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic and chiropody services to complement their rehabilitation.

Referrals are accepted from across Ontario. If appropriate, patients may also be referred to our outpatient rehabilitation program and benefit from a seamless continuum of rehabilitation provided by a team of professionals that deliver high quality care in a team-based patient-focused environment.
