Governance & Integration

Emergency Preparedness at Sunnybrook is governed by the Emergency Preparedness Steering Committee, which has public authority and representation from Senior Leadership, Operational and Clinical Directors, Patient Safety, Risk Management and Communication and Stakeholder Relations specialists.

Each of the 15 emergency codes has a team of specialists that work collectively as a Specialized Working Group, to provide expert consultation and champion improvement within each emergency code.

Sunnybrook leads through partnerships to promote integration and transfer of knowledge with leading experts such as the Toronto Emergency Medical Services, Toronto Police Service, Toronto Fire Services, the Emergency Medical Assistance Team, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Emergency Management Branch, hospitals, community organizations and collaboratives such as the CBRNE Collaborative.
